I have a hard time naming a favorite among these, but since I have always been the particularly white bread sort, the mundane medieval humans of Order have secured a slight victory over the others in my heart. Finally, Arcane comes with its magical constructs and wizards to magic your way to victory. The Enclave is populated with lizardmen and dinosaurs while the Horde has your goblins, centaurs, and trolls. Turn Based + Real Timeĭecay is where you will find your undead swarms and Pyre houses the demonic forces. If elves, faeries, and satyrs are your thing, check out Wild. If you are looking for classic humans with their knights, monks, and gryphons, Order has you covered. Order, Wild, Decay, Arcane, Pyre, Lament, and Horde populate the world, and the asymmetrical unit and building system make each feel unique. The factions that are on offer thematically match those from the beloved series that came before and many of the units are basically straight rips. The world of Hero’s Hour is very likely to hit many players right in their Might and Magic nostalgia.
Its inspiration is clear in nearly every aspect of the title and, for one, I’m not sure who comes out on top. Hero’s Hour is the first to step into the ring with Heroes of Might and Magic III that has really given it a run for its money.
